From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Academic journal Stem Cell Research is a peer-reviewed open access scientific journals of cell biology. The journal was established in 2007, and is currently published 8 times per year by Elsevier. The current editor-in-chief is Thomas Zwaka (Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai). The journal is abstracted and indexed in the following bibliographic databases:[1][2] According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2020 impact factor of 2.02.[3]
Stem cell research is expanding beyond earthly confines. Scientists from Cedars-Sinai in California have partnered with the private company Axiom Space to help them produce stem cells aboard the International Space Stationan apparent first that will test whether these cells can be manufactured more efficiently in a microgravity environment. The initial cargo needed for the two-year-long experiments will be delivered via the Axiom Mission 2 spaceflight, set to launch early next month
Diabetic kidney disease induces transcriptome alterations associated with angiogenesis activity in human mesenchymal stromal cells Therapeutic interventions that optimize angiogenic activities may reduce rates of end-stage kidney disease, critical limb ischemia, and lower extremity amputations in individuals with diabetic kidney disease (... This revelation offers insight into why we age and what critical cellular machinery we must keep running to combat age-related diseases, according to Maria Carolina Florian, a stem cell biologist at the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies who was not involved in the work. To Florian, it suggests the possibility of creating drugs that can maintain this control for stem cells. It looks particularly important, she says, because of this possibility to be targetedto be able to reverse aging
Dublin, April 14, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The "Global Market for Stem Cells" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering. This report discusses the implications of stem cell research and commercial trends in the context of the current size and growth of the pharmaceutical market, both in global terms and analyzed by the most important national markets. The important technologies supporting stem cells are reviewed, and the nature and structure of the stem cell industry is discussed, with profiles of the leading companies, including recent merger and acquisition (M&A) activity. Five-year sales forecasts are provided for the national markets and the major therapeutic categories of the products involved. Stem cells are the first cells formed when an egg and a sperm join, and the resultant zygote begins to divide
Advances in burns treatment open up new possibilities for healing other complicated wounds. For the first time, stem cells produced in compliance with the regulations governing the manufacture of medicinal products, are now being tested as a treatment for hard-to-heal leg ulcers in Linkping, Sweden. Using stem cells in the treatment of hard-to-heal wounds and burns is a new method under development. Its success depends on close collaboration between researchers and health care staff

The future of cancer treatment hailed as the holy grail of early detection is now being put to the test. Following a radically successful trial on cancer patients, a new blood test that promises to predict tumors more than a year before they begin to form is now being applied in hospitals across the United Kingdom. This is the first pan-cancer blood test, said Ashish Tripathi, founder and CEO of Tzar Labs as well as chairman of Epigeneres Biotech, the Indian firm where the test was first developed in 2021. An updated report on their findings was published this month in the journal Stem Cells. We can detect [cancer] earlier than other known technologies before the tumor has physically formed, Tripathi continued during a new interview with author and medical advocate Deepak Chopra
